Sainsbury's withdraws some mandarin jelly

Selçuk Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Gıda Mühendisliği Bölümü Öğretim Üyesi Prof. Dr. Mustafa Karakaya, çocukların ve gençlerin, zihinsel gelişimleri için büyümelerini tamamlayıncaya kadar günde 1-2 adet yumurta tüketmesi gerektiğini söyledi.

Karakaya, AA muhabirine yaptığı açıklamada, sağlıklı ve dengeli bir beslenme için hayvansal gıdaların mutlaka düzenli şekilde alınması gerektiğini belirtti.

İnsan beslenmesinde ve vücut gelişiminde proteinlerin büyük önem taşıdığını vurgulayan Karakaya, et, süt ve yumurta gibi hayvansal ürünlerin de protein açısından zengin kaynaklar olduğunu bildirdi.

Aydın'ın Nazilli ilçesinde yaklaşık iki ay önce Organik Kestane ve İncir Sertifikasını alan S.S Aksu Köyü Tarımsal Kalkınma Kooperatifi Aydın'da ilk kez ''ballı kestane'' üretimini gerçekleştirecek.

Kooperatif bünyesindeki 'Organik Mutlu Köy Aksu Projesini hazırlayan Koordinatör Hakan Başlık, AA muhabirine yaptığı açıklamada, en uzun yaşam merkezi olarak tescil edilen Nazilli'de toprağı bereketli ve şirin köyü Aksu'nun her bakımdan daha iyi yerlere gelebilmesi için ellerinden gelen çabayı gösterdiklerini ifade etti.

Gıda sektörünün kalbi Bursa'da atıyor

AA muhabirinin aldığı bilgiye göre, Renault, TOFAŞ ve Karsan gibi otomotiv firmalarının üretim yaptığı, dev tekstil işletmelerinin bulunduğu Bursa, 2009'da 10 milyar dolara yaklaşan yıllık ihracatıyla İstanbul'un ardından ikinci sırada yer aldı. Yıllardır otomotivin kalbi, tekstilin merkezi olarak bilinen Bursa, son yıllarda gerçekleştirilen yatırımlarla gıda sektöründe de adından söz ettirmeye başladı.

İSTANBUL - Türkiye Süt, Et, Gıda Sanayicileri ve Üreticileri Birliği’nin (SETBİR) dört yıldır 10 AB üyesi ülkenin gıda federasyonlarıyla birlikte yürüttüğü 21 milyon avro bütçeli ‘Truefood’ projesi kapsamında, Türk döner ve kokorecine standart geliyor. Hijyeni ilk sırada tutan AB standartlarına göre tamamlanacak çalışmayla, sokaklarda görmeye alışık olduğumuz seyyar ‘kokoreç’ arabalarının da miladı dolacak.

Texas Firm Recalls Ready-To-Eat Beef Taquito and Chicken Quesadilla Products due to Possible Salmonella Contamination - (USDA Food Safety & Inspection Service)

WASHINGTON, March 9, 2010 - Windsor Foods, a firm with operations in Lampasas, Texas, and Oakland, Miss., is recalling approximately 1.7 million pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) beef taquito and chicken quesadilla products that may be contaminated with Salmonella. The packages of beef taquito and chicken quesadilla products contain as an ingredient the specific Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (HVP), which was previously recalled, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a recall of the HVP product on March 4, 2010. A recall of the ready-to-eat taquito and quesadilla products containing the HVP was warranted due to the determination that the HVP ingredient was added after Salmonella prevention steps were applied. Consumers weigh in about what makes a good meat label - (Meatingplace.com)

ORLANDO, Fla. — The meat case is still a confusing place for many shoppers, but the right kinds of labels can help them, according to the second two-phase Protein Labeling Study funded by the Beef Checkoff Program, the National Pork Board and Yerecic Label and presented here at the Annual Meat Conference, hosted by the American Meat Institute and the Food Marketing Institute. The research revisited a similar study done in 2004 and will also include an in-store testing phase slated for this fall. It surveyed nine mini focus groups — each with five to seven consumers — in November 2009 in Los Angeles, Chicago and Bethesda, Md. Consumers were ages 21 to 54 and described themselves as having moderate cooking skills or being "cooking challenged." The study was conducted by Bethesda, Md.-based Shugoll Research with strategic direction from Chicago-based Midan Marketing. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Lincoln, NE, March 8, 2010 – Nature's Variety has expanded its voluntary recall of Chicken Formula Raw Frozen Diets for dogs and cats to include the "Best If Used By" dates of 10/29/10 and 11/9/10 because these products may be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella can affect animals and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products. People handling pet food can become infected with Salmonella, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the product or any surfaces exposed to these products. Healthy people infected with Salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever.
